Felos Andros travel guide

The beach of Felos is located on the north-western coast of Andros in a cescent bay that sits on a hook of land that lies opposite the main Andros port of Gavrio.

Felos has a long swathe of gently shelving grey sand that lines an attractive south-west facing horseshoe bay backed by some large and shady trees.

A single line of small tamarisk trees runs virtually the whole length of the beach to provide sunbathers with plenty of natural shade.

The beach has a small stream that runs down and across the beach at its northern end and there is a rocky headland with small sheltered coves to the south.

The area around Felos beach is mainly rich farmland and there are many fields of corn as well as the usual olive groves lining the narrow lanes that spider across this part of Andros.

Finding the beach at Felos can be a bit of a problem for drivers as it is quite remote in a less visited part of the island and the single track roads are not particularly well signposted

There are several other small but very pleasant beaches to be found to the north of Felos, notably at Charakas, and also to the south where there are small arcs of sand to enjoy at Kourtali and Selki.

None of these Andros beaches have any facilities so you should take food and water if you plan a visit.
