A favourite of British package tour holiday companies Roda beach is long, flat and sandy with sand turning to shingle head to the east.
Roda beach is a favourite of families with young children as the sand shelves gently into the sea although towards the less popular eastern end it can get quite steep.
There are attractive rock pools at each end of the beach to add interest and you will need an umbrella as the beach is exposed, with very little natural shade anywhere.
Roda has the usual sunbeds and watersports as well as boats for hire and horse riding, even go-karting for the youngsters.
To the west is a large hotel holiday complex and beyond that lies the neighbouring beach resort of Sidari
At the end of the beach is a small jetty and this is a popular point for Corfu island boat trips.
Roda is well signposted off the main road but there is a confusing one-way system to negotiate of you arrive by car and parking can be a problem in high summer. Narrow tracks and paths lead off the main streets to Roda beach.
Not much in the way of Greek character can be found in Roda village. This is a downmarket Brits-on-holiday resort, with all-day full-English breakfast, karaoke bars and souvenir shops galore.
