Kerveli Samos travel guide

Kerveli is on the south-east coast of Samos about 8 kilometres from Samos Town and looks towards Turkey from a beautiful sheltered bay set in wooded countryside and olive groves at the end of a three kilometre country lane.

Kerveli village has a couple of tavernas, both serving excellent sea food, a mini-market and a scattering of villas and apartments with just a single hotel.

The narrow shingle beach is about 200 metres long with a small jettu and shallow water, lined with tamarisk trees set against a backdrop of thickly forested hills.

Relatively isolated, Kerveli beach almost never gets crowded and sunbeds are well spaced apart. A well shaded beach-front taverna offers the basics.

The countryside around Kerveli is ideal for walkers with several trails through the local woods. Many small coves are dotted along the heavily indented coastline.

There is a small folklore museum in the basement of one of the Kerveli Luxury Villas apartments, with a display of farm and household artefacts and miscellaneous trivia. There is also a selection of Samos wines on showin the wine cellar.

There is no public bus service in the resort, although the local Kerveli Village Hotel has courtesy bus to and from Samos Town which does offer lifts to non-residents.
